This model features three rows of Delrin ball bearings which allow the jaws to open and close smoothly under high loads. Lines are engaged with a simple downward pressure. There is no need to pull highly loaded lines through the jaws to ease sheets or halyards - just flick them out.
In addition Cam-Matic's patented geometry insures that the same number of teeth grip the line regardless of its diameter. This special geometry feature holds all types of line (small, hard, high-tech, and soft large lines) with equal force and allows for the use of rounded teeth that do not damage lines. The round, die-cast aluminum jaws are Hardkote anodized with a slippery Teflon impregnation which further resists line abrasion.
